They started their time shared together with prayer and conversations about school, life, the Gospel of Christ, and even a big snake that they encountered on their journey. Our founder, Jamorrey Gosha, and president of our board of directors, Natasha James, were able to visit Central High School and surprise Daryll Honeycutt with a scholarship that paid his entire remaining balance for AL FBLA State Conference. Daryll, faced often time with adversity, now has the opportunity to attend state convention without financial restraints. Listen to his story below.

Members of The Focus Initiative's Volunteer Community participates in "Cruising to Clothe a Child" Classic Car Show in Union Springs (Bullock County), Alabama. Our volunteer community interacted with local residents and shared information on the services and programs that we offer to their area. "Cruising to Clothe A Child" is a classic car show that benefits local foster children in Bullock County, Alabama. This event is sponsored by the Bullock County DHR and the Wild Hog Classic Car Club.

On Friday, March 3, 2023, members of The Focus Initiative visited We Care Academy to read to over one hundred students during Read Across America Week 2023. Launched in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA), Read Across America is the nation's largest celebration of reading. This year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone.

"Community Christmas Party" at LP Stough Community Center

The Focus Initiative joined Phenix City's NAACP, Girls Inc. of Columbus, and the Phenix City Housing Authority for a Community Christmas Cookie Party at LP Stough Community Center in Phenix City, Alabama. This event was held in three different communities to provide children with an opportunity to participate in the event. Several children were in attendance.
